Quiver FC is leading the race in the Coastal Stream with Forever Thistles FC and Spiders FC setting the pace in the Inland Stream of the Namport //Kharas Football Region soccer leagues.
Quiver with 19 points from seven matches (six wins and one draw) remains undefeated and established an eight point lead over Atlanta Bucks which is placed in second position on 11 points (three wins, two draws and two defeats) on the Coastal Stream log. Youngsters is placed third (10 points) followed by NovaNam (nine points), Mountain Rangers (six points) and Men United at the bottom of the log with two points. Forever Thistles and Spiders is tied with 13 points each at the top of the Inland Stream. Thistles occupy the top spot having played six matches (four wins, one draw and one defeat), with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.
Spiders played seven matches (four wins, one loss and two draws). Orange Rangers is placed third (11 points) followed by Keetmanshoop United (eight points), Brazilie (five points) and bottom placed Real Fighters with four points.
“This weekend we have two games in Roshphina and four games in both Luderitz and Noordoewer over the weekend. There is also a game scheduled for Keetmanshoop on Saturday,” confirmed Zayne Beukes, the Regional Secretary for the Namport //Kharas Football Region. Two games will be hosted in Keetmanshoop on Wednesday with all league fixtures to be concluded over the weekend of 28 and 29 October. “Keetmanshoop will host two games and Noordoewer one match on 28 June. Luderitz will host three games on 29 June. “After that the winner of the Coastal Stream contested by teams from Luderitz and Rosh Pinah will take on the winner of the Inland Stream which is contested by teams from Keetmanshoop and Noordoewer. The champion will represent the region at the Southern Stream First Division play-offs,” Beukes explained.
Results - Quiver defeated Youngsters 3-1, Men United and Pescanova played to a 1-1 draw while Mountain Rangers held Atlanta Bucs to a 2-2 draw in Second Division matches played on Saturday. Youngsters and Ekanda played to a 2-2 draw in the Third Division. Atlantic defeated Rush Ups 3-1. Quiver defeated Men United 5-2 and Youngsters defeated Atlanta Bucs 3-0 in Second Division matches played on Sunday. Black Rose and Trade Port played to a 1-1 draw in the Third Division. Pescanova defeated Mountain Rangers 2-0.
