Faizah Bwalya is Miss Luderitz Crayfish Festival 2025. She earned the title and received her crown from Albertina Mhuku, the winner of the annually hosted pageant in 2024, on Friday at the Old Power Station in the harbour town. “I'm overwhelmed, excited and most of all I'm just grateful because this title came to me through the grace of God,” Bwalya said moments after receiving her crown.
She intends to give aspiring young models a voice during her reign as Miss Luderitz Crayfish Festival 2025. “I want them to know their voices are heard. I follow the motto - it's okay to be a sunflower in a daisy's garden, which means it's okay to stand up and be you,” the beaming beauty queen stated.
Bwalya also received the most likes on social media and secured the Miss Public Choice title. Chariva Seister is her first princess and Alicia Langer is the second princess. Beggie-Lee Kolma was named Miss Personality and the professional photographer awarded the Miss Photogenic title to Leandré Carelse.
Eleven contestants wowed the crowd and the judges, Donna Hifitikeko, Dean Johannes, and Pauiina Mbundu. Guided by the master of ceremonies, Kenneth Machava, the Miss Lüderitz Crayfish Festival 2025 title chasers took to the stage in creative wear (their own design), swimwear, and evening wear. The beauty queens were judged on their general appearance, attitude, and personality.
The event was filled with glamour and excitement and all the contestants put their best foot forward. “We celebrated the hard work of the contestants. At this pageant, we cherish beauty, confidence, culture and community spirit. It was established to empower young women, build their confidence and promote local talent and businesses,” commented Irene Williams, the pageant coordinator.
The entertainment lineup included musicians Moesha Titus, Madison, King Biko, Cenelion, the crowd pullers Mega Slaughterhouse as well as the dancing acts Silent Killers and Decent Friends.
