Jerusha Sheyer (21), the first-ever person to be crowned Miss Global Namibia 2026, has been selected to represent Namibia in the upcoming MS Global Contest.
The 7th edition of the contest, which celebrates and promotes talent, female leadership, beauty and values, including social responsibility and empowerment, will take place in Peru from 25 May 2026 until 3 June 2026.
Sheyer, who hails from Keetmanshoop, has a deep love for pageantry and modelling, which developed over 10 years. She has won awards for Best Pageant Model of the Year for 5 consecutive years and competed at Miss Teen Namibia 2021, where she placed as the 4th runner-up.
With a firm voice and a compassionate heart, Sheyer is a passionate advocate against bullying. Having experienced it firsthand, she transformed her pain into purpose, becoming an inspiration to those who face similar struggles.
Her mission is clear: to raise awareness, provide support, and help build safe and empathetic environments where every young person can grow free from violence. Beyond her advocacy, she is a resilient, determined, and visionary young woman who embraces every challenge as an opportunity to grow and make an impact.
“During my participation in pageantry and modelling, I gained appreciation for the confidence, broadened world view and social responsibility it can impart on young women. This international platform is not only a personal milestone but also an opportunity to showcase the talent, culture and values of our nation. I am looking forward to representing the Land of the Brave with dignity and pride,” Sheyer said.
Her participation in the MS Global Contest requires significant resources to cover her registration, visa, travel, accommodation, attire and training expenses. She is organising pancake and barbecue sales in Windhoek, Keetmanshoop and Lüderitz to help her raise the funds.
The governor of the Kharas Region, David Gertze, called on individuals, organisations, and partners to support Sheyer. “She is a remarkable young woman, so let us contribute what we can towards N$107 000 in costs she needs to carry the Namibian flag abroad. Let us stand together and support excellence, leadership, and the dreams of our young women,” Gertze said.
Donations can be deposited into the account of her manager/mother, Brenda Green, Cheque Acc: 241959160 , Standard Bank, Maerua Mall Branch.
MS Global Contest background - By highlighting the importance of inner beauty alongside outer grace, MS Global seeks to empower women to be leaders in their communities and role models for future generations. The pageant is structured across three categories - Teen, Miss, and Mrs - affirming that women of all ages and life stages can follow their dreams, pursue excellence, and inspire others.
In June and July 2025, Namibia participated in the MS Global Contest for the very first time, represented by Caitlin Bosman in the Teen category. Namibia made history at the international finals held on 7 July 2025, when Bosman was crowned Teen MS Global 2025, becoming the first Namibian to win the title and bring the crown home.
Her leadership style, dedication, and love for the pageant resulted in her being appointed as National Director of MS Global Namibia, a role in which she now nurtures and mentors the next generation of pageant leaders.
Under her directorship, Bosman selected her successors to represent Namibia at the upcoming international MS Global 2026 edition: Melanie van der Merwe, crowned Teen MS Global Namibia 2026, and Jerusha Hazel Shayer, the first-ever Miss MS Global Namibia 2026. These two remarkable young women will proudly compete on behalf of Namibia at the international MS Global pageant, scheduled from 25 May to 3 June 2026.
“The MS Global pageant and similar global competitions are increasingly recognised not just for crowns and sashes, but for the opportunities they create, from personal growth and confidence-building to cultural exchange and platforms for advocacy and community service. By embracing contestants of diverse backgrounds and life paths, MS Global continues to redefine pageantry as a celebration of women’s potential in every form,” said Bosman.
