Keetmanshoop RAMS handed Oranjemund Rugby Club their first defeat (35-25) of the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) ||Kharas First Division season, while Ocean Swallows claimed their first victory (35-22) by beating Mariental Rugby Club over the weekend.
Lock Giano Talliaard scored two tries for Keetmanshoop RAMS, while openside flanker Edward Stein, scrum-half JP Farmer and full-back Sean-Aimee Pieters added one each. Fly-half Marc Sauls kicked five conversions.
For Oranjemund, full-back Kolisie Isaacs, right wing Tony Marselino and substitute Edrick Losper scored tries. Inside centre Gino Wilson converted two tries and two penalties.
Both teams have 15 points after four matches, having recorded three wins and one defeat, with two rounds remaining. Oranjemund still occupies the top of the standings on a superior points difference, having scored 18 tries and conceded 14, compared with RAMS' 17 tries scored and 13 conceded.
Ocean Swallows recorded their first win for the season with a hard-fought 35-22 victory over Mariental on Saturday in Mariental.
Fly-half Jamall van Wyk scored two tries for Ocean Swallows, while blindside flanker Henis Shihepo, lock Sakaria Angula, and props Wilbard Amadila and Kriopas Hallaula each crossed the line once. Van Wyk also kicked two conversions and two penalties, while inside centre Alvaro Inkono added a penalty.
For Mariental, inside centre Gabriel Chaune scored one try and eighthman Fabian Routh added two. Full-back Goliath Denver kicked a conversion and a penalty, while scrum-half Realph Titus added a conversion.
Mariental and Ocean Swallows both have six points, including two bonus points. Mariental occupies third place on a superior points difference. They have scored 11 tries and conceded 12, while Ocean Swallows have scored nine and conceded 17.
In the NRU First Division Central/North, Sparta United remain two points clear of Vikings after nine matches.
Sparta leads the standings with 40 points from seven wins and two defeats, while Vikings are second on 38 points with the same win-loss record. Sparta scored 31 tries and conceded 17, compared with the Vikings' 44 tries scored and 27 conceded.
Oceans are fourth on 18 points, followed by Eastern Bulls (17), Okahandja Highlanders (11), Reho Falcon 3 (10) and NUST (-1).

Oranjemund will host the Southern leg of the third Ongos Valley Sevens tournament. The series will start on 15 August in Oranjemund and head to Walvis Bay on 3 October before the championship leg on 23-24 October 2026 in Windhoek.
