Despite a challenging April month locally with fuel price volatility, rising costs, economic uncertainty and a shorter trading month due to the many public holidays, over 1 000 units of the Jetour T2 were sold – its highest monthly sales for this model to date.
This places the Jetour T2 in 8th position in the South African new car passenger segment, with the Jetour brand itself moving into the top 8 nationally. These April results reflect a significant increase on the already strong March performance of 646 units for the Jetour T2, particularly given that the model only launched in South Africa in October last year. Cumulative sales of the Jetour T2 have now exceeded 4000 units since launch.
The T2’s comprehensive feature set and premium feel, combined with its strong warranty, accessible parts and ownership package, have strengthened its appeal. Its bold, boxy SUV design is also a body style that has become increasingly popular among South African consumers. “We always knew the Jetour T2 would be a strong seller, given the international success of the model across multiple regions. Its value proposition, design, technology and overall appeal positioned it well from the start, but these sales have truly exceeded our expectations,” says Jetour South Africa Vice President, Nic Campbell.
Priced at R 569 900 for the Jetour T2 Aspire, R 639 900 for the T2 Xplora, R 679 900 for the flagship T2 Odyssey, and R779 900 for the T2 i-DM, the Jetour T2 is a rugged yet refined compact SUV designed for adventure, versatility and everyday comfort. The range includes the 2WD 1.5TD Aspire (125kW/270Nm) and two 4WD variants: The 2.0TD Xplora and 2.0TD Odyssey, both delivering 180kW and 375Nm for stronger performance and off-road capability. The Odyssey offers added space and comfort with larger dimensions (4785 x 2006 x 1880mm).
All models feature a 70L fuel tank and are available in Onyx Black, Glacier White, Aqua Green and Lunar Silver. Standard features include 540° panoramic view cameras, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, LED lighting, heated electric mirrors, roof racks, privacy glass, and illuminated door sills, combining safety, practicality, and modern tech.
Building on the popularity of Jetour’s T-Series, which includes the compact, stylish and versatile Jetour T1, the brand continues to strengthen its SUV lineup in line with global automotive trends. Last month saw the launch of the PHEV i-DM T-Series, offering the same capability and design, but with lower running costs, the flexibility of electric daily driving, and the extended range and freedom of hybrid performance. Compared with petrol vehicles, the i-DM offers significantly better fuel efficiency, making it an excellent choice amid rising fuel prices.
