The Keetmanshoop Municipality officially launched Phase 1 of its Mayoral Clean-Up Campaign on Saturday, bringing together residents, councillors, municipal staff and the mayor in a joint effort to improve cleanliness across the town.
The campaign, an initiative under the Office of the Mayor in collaboration with the Junior Council, aims to unite residents around a shared objective of maintaining a clean, healthy and beautiful Keetmanshoop. The mayor of the town, Melody Swartbooi was present on the ground during the clean-up campaign, alongside councillors and municipal staff. Residents also turned out in numbers to participate in the initiative.
Swartbooi said she is closely observing which sub-location records the highest turnout, hinting that a surprise may be in store for the most active community. Residents were encouraged to join the campaign at several collection points across Tseiblaagte, including Paradise, Gereres, Ileni, Oabates, Koppieslaagte, Sonop, Soweto, Soek en Kry, P Location, Nama Location, TransNamib, Brukkaros, Tseiblaagte Extension 7, Mass Housing and Lemoendraai.
Phase 1 of the campaign focused on Tseiblaagte, while upcoming phases will continue in other areas of Keetmanshoop. The commencement of the second phase of the campaign will be announced soon.
