The Construction Industries Federation of Namibia (CIF), in collaboration with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the Lüderitz Waterfront Development Company, the Lüderitz Town Council, and FlyNamibia, announced that bookings are open for the CIF Infrastructure Development Forum, scheduled to take place from 14–16 October 2025 at the Old Power Station Conference Centre in Lüderitz.
Registration closes on 4 October 2025. Interested participants should complete the registration form and email it to admin@cifnamibia.com and gm@cifnamibia.com. Spaces are limited, and early booking is strongly encouraged.
The Forum offers a unique opportunity for contractors, SMEs, suppliers of building material and financiers to gain upfront knowledge about upcoming infrastructure and development projects in Lüderitz and the wider ||Kharas region. This information will equip businesses to prepare strategically, ensuring they are ready to participate in tenders and create partnerships as projects move forward. “The CIF Infrastructure Development Forum 2025 comes at exactly the right time — Lüderitz is on the brink of a construction boom. This first-of-its-kind event brings the industry together to see first-hand what is planned. With this new concept, CIF is creating a platform that connects procurement entities with contractors, SMEs and professionals, without comprising the procurement system. It will also demonstrate Namibia’s local capacity,” said Bärbel Kirchner, CEO, Construction Industries Federation of Namibia. He added; “It is about opening doors to projects, building partnerships and ensuring fair and efficient procurement processes. Above all, it is fundamental that CIF provides this platform for its members and the wider construction sector — and our vision is to make it an annual event that drives jobs, growth and a stronger future for Namibia.”
The three-day event will feature more than 35 high-profile speakers and panellists from government, state-owned enterprises and private sector companies. The speakers will share essential information about projects under their auspices, including details on timelines and procurement requirements. Remarkably, they have committed to providing their time free of charge while covering their own travel and accommodation expenses, which reflects their dedication to supporting the construction industry and development in Namibia. In addition to knowledge-sharing, the Forum will provide ample opportunities for networking, with over five hours of structured sessions, nine coffee breaks, and three lunches built into the programme. Collaboration between Namibian-owned contractors and SMEs is at the core of the event, and the programme includes dedicated training opportunities for SMEs on the final day. While designed with SMEs in mind, the training content will also provide valuable insights for all participants.
The CIF Infrastructure Development Forum 2025 is not only about presenting upcoming economic opportunities but also about building capacity, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring that Namibia’s construction sector is prepared for the demands of the future. Harold Mouton, the MD of Namibian Welding, Building and Civil Works said the company was proud to co-sponsor the Forum in Lüderitz. “This Forum is a must-attend event and should be a strategic consideration for every contractor. It will offer essential insights and opportunities to engage with government, industry leaders and communities. Supporting the Forum reflects our commitment to resilient infrastructure, partnerships, and growth in the ||Kharas region and beyond, while helping shape projects that create jobs, drive progress and deliver lasting value for Namibia.”
The Forum is supported by main sponsors First National Bank, Standard Bank, Namibia Welding, Building and Civil Works, Africa Personnel Services, Namport, Peralin Paints, and Neo Paints. Additional support comes from Ohorongo Cement, Access Laboratory Services, NEC Energy, NEC Water & Pumps, Windhoek Hire and Sales Services, Dynamic Concrete and Pupkewitz Megabuild.
