Nedbank Namibia has announced a financing agreement with Achill Island Investments (Pty) Ltd.
The company, together with its sister farm Silverlands Vineyards, operates large-scale agriculture in the Aussenkehr Valley. The partnership is intended to support the expansion of operations and further promote sustainable farming practices. The two farms cultivate around 900 hectares of table grapes and date palms, which are marketed worldwide under the Silverlands brand. During peak season, they employ about 4,000 people. “This cooperation is a prime example of how Nedbank enables growth in key sectors,” said Nedbank Namibia board member JG van Graan. Agriculture is a cornerstone of the economy, and the bank is proud to support companies that combine efficiency with sustainability and social responsibility.
Silverlands is part of an international agricultural group active across Southern and Eastern Africa. In addition to its large-scale operations, the company also supports smallholder farmers with high-quality seeds, training, and market opportunities – an approach that improves incomes and fosters agricultural innovation. Thanks to the climate in southern Namibia, the farms are able to harvest table grapes particularly early and produce premium-quality dates. Silverlands plans further investments in innovation and expansion, thereby strengthening Namibia’s position as a competitive player in international agricultural markets.
